About Sam

Sam Loman ( 1983) studied Illustration at the academy of arts in Rotterdam the Netherlands and received her
Bachelor of Design in January 2005. A year before
her graduation she started her own design business.
First as an illustrator but soon she extended her
creative skills with graphic design, photography,
product design and writing children and non-fiction
books.

Sam has a broad experience and worked for many
clients like: all kinds of magazines, book publishers
(children as well as adult literature), companies who
develop stationery, cards, kitchen- & tableware, clothes and baby products. For a full bibliography please click: here

Since she has an inexhaustible interest for many subjects
she started with new study:
A Master Art & Design at the university of Hertfordshire UK.
Some of her research subjects are: medical illustration
(orthopedic anatomy and radiology), biomedical art and fashion illustration (light, fabric, flow, lining).
Her main goal is to extend her knowledge and to bring science and arts/design together. Make the invisible, visible for a wide range of people. Expected graduation: Aug 2011.

Another goal in life is making people happy with her
illustrations and products. Put a smile on their face,
give them a minute of joy, make dreams come true on paper.

Allereerst leuk dat je Sam’s website hebt gevonden!

Sam Loman ( 1983) studeerde illustratie aan de Willem de Kooning academie te Rotterdam en behaalde haar Bachelor
of Design in Januari 2005.
Een jaar voor haar afstuderen begon ze haar eigen
ontwerp studio. Eerst als illustrator, maar al snel zette
ze haar creatieve vaardigheden ook in voor grafisch
ontwerp, fotografie en het schrijven van kinder- en
non fictie boeken.

Sam heeft een veel ervaring en werkt voor veel
verschillende opdrachtgevers als: Diverse magazines,
uitgeverijen, bedrijven die kaarten, papierwerk, agenda’s,
kaarten, serviesgoed, keukentextiel, kleding en baby-
producten op de markt brengen.

Omdat ze een grote interesse heeft voor vele onderwerpen
is ze gestart met een nieuwe studie: Een Master Art & Design
(kunst & ontwerpen met als specialisatie illustratie) aan de
universiteit van Hertfordshire Engeland.
Een aantal van haar onderzoeksonderwerpen zijn:
medische illustratie (orthopedie en radiologie), biomedische kunst en
mode illustratie (lijn, lichtval, stofuitdrukking).
Haar grootste doel is haar kennis uitbreiden dmv
onderzoek en kunst en wetenschap verbinden: het onzichtbare zichtbaar maken op zo'n manier dat het een groot publiek aanspreekt.

Een ander doel is mensen blij maken met haar illustraties en
producten. Een lach, een minuutje plezier, dromen laten uitkomen
en een eigen wereld creëren op papier.
Het ontvangen van al jullie superleuke mailtjes maakt haar ontzettend
blij en geeft enorm veel inspiratie! Stuur dus vooral een berichtje,
